🧱 New New OpenClaw v. 2026.5.24-beta Updates
Understand What OpenClaw Is
OpenClaw is a local AI assistant that runs on your machine connecting to your preferred AI models
It works through apps you use daily messaging it like a friend (WhatsApp, Telegram, Discord, etc.)
It automates tasks like managing calendars, browsing, running code, and remembers context over time
Pro Tip: OpenClaw is open source so you can trust your data stays on your machine without vendor lock-in
Upgraded Performance Boosts
Model listing is now near-instant, dropping from 20 seconds to 5 milliseconds by caching models at startup. Gateway startup is much faster due to lazy loading only necessary components when needed. This is big because gateway crashes have been a consistent annoyance in the past.
Repeat calls skip expensive metadata reloads and file stat checks saving precious seconds
New Meeting Notes Plug-in
The meeting notes plug-in auto-captures and imports transcripts from Discord voice calls
It’s lightweight, separate from the core install, and accessed via the openclaw meeting notes CLI. This plug-in architecture lets new features ship independently without bloating OpenClaw
If you use Discord for calls enable this plug-in to automate capturing key meeting info. Discord has one of the best API and webhook integrations for any chat app, so building more in this platform with claw agents is good news.

Locked npm Dependencies and Windows Fixes
Dependencies are now locked with shrink wrap ensuring reliable, consistent installs and updates. Package integrity checks prevent corrupted installs from reaching you.
Plus, Windows installs now support WSL2, handle missing NodeJS, and recover from failed updates gracefully. Locked dependencies mean fewer surprises when you update OpenClaw making it safer for critical agency systems
Overall UI Improvements
Session search and pagination make navigating old chats easier. Pasting images into chats now works correctly converting base64 data ← This is also a big one as it means you can call, plug, and convert any web media straight into your agent setup with zero conversions needed.
Colour mode buttons have tool tips and duplicate model toggles are fixed for clarity
These tweaks improve daily usability so you spend less time fiddling and more time getting things done
If you want to learn OpenClaw and agent systems but are stuck, don’t have the motivation, or missing the helpful group space that makes all of this easier, join our new OpenClaw Builders Skool community.
